The Visitor

The President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is the Visitor to the University of Abuja; being a Federal Government owned institution. The Visitor is responsible for the appointment of Chancellor, Pro-Chancellor and external members of the Council.  Also once every quinquennium, the Visitor inquires into the state of affairs of the University in order to keep it on course. This is usually carried out through the setting up of a Visitation Panel.
