To promote training in appropriate sustainable agricultural production and marketing through demand driven and globally competitive research and development taking into cognizance the agricultural policies and programmes of the country and in line with best practices internationally.
When the establishment of a faculty of Agriculture was approved by the Senate of the University of Abuja on 11th October, 2004. The Faculty comprises of the Departments of Agricultural Economics and Extension; Animal Science; Crop Science; Soil Science; Food and Nutrition Science; and Water Resources, Aquaculture and Fisheries.Department of Animal Science was established and started it first session in 2005/06. Prof E.A Aiyedun is the head of Department.
